I don’t wear makeup most days. Considering I am either A.) working with three preschool boys/toddlers or B.) working from home doing my coaching/blogging side gig, I don’t have much use for makeup. The boys don’t care an awful lot about what I look like when I show up in the morning, as long as I’ll play hide-and-seek and draw some sidewalk art with them.
However, I’ve been told that my show makeup is just as important of an accessory for my show as my actual bikini. I wanted my makeup to match the rose gold bikini I had chosen.
More important than rose gold and being all matchy-matchy was making sure that my products were all both vegan and cruelty free. For anybody confused,
- Vegan: doesn’t contain any animal products or by-products
- Cruelty free: not tested on animals
I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to find what I was looking for, but I was pleasantly surprised by all of the companies out there making products that are friendly to the animals. I hope you all can join me in supporting these companies.
This butter drench is as smooth as vegan buttah and always on my face. I put this on both in the morning and right before I head to bed every single day. My show day makeup routine wouldn’t be complete without it.
When I do wear makeup, for date nights and such, I go for my Too Faced Born This Way foundation. However, this is the only time I’m going to need a shade of makeup so dark to match my unnatural tan, so I wanted something cheaper. Wet n Wild had just what I was looking for.
I’ve been using this contouring palette for ages. I bought it initially because it was a cheap find at Target, but I’ll be buying it again when I run out because I love it so much. It’s a powder, but it goes on smooth. It also seems to refill itself and never ever run out.
Yes, yes, yes! SO much yes! I love this eyeshadow palette so much. Isn’t this palette gorgeous? The colors are neutral enough that I feel like I could wear them for any occasion, but they’re also incredibly buildable so that I can create a more dramatic look. I’ve been having so much fun playing around with all the possibilities in this palette.
I want my face to be a dramatic glitter sparkle fest, so I took my eye look one step further with this diamond dew shadow. This rose gold is going to tie my makeup look to my bikini so that my look is complete and cohesive.
I definitely need more practice with applying falsies, but I’ve been impressed with these so far. They look full and fierce without looking wildly over the top. Bonus: they aren’t mink and that’s a win-win for me and for the animals.
I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on products I only wore once, so I made sure to get items I’d wear again and again. This Tarte 2-in-1 lipstick and gloss is one I’ll be carrying in my purse from now on. The dusty rose is a subtle pinkish nude. You can wear the matte lipstick or shiny gloss together or on their own.
Any color you’re looking for, Ella + Mila has it. I drink my superfoods daily, so my nails grow long and strong enough that I decided not to do fake nails. This brand is the ONLY brand I buy any more because it’s long lasting and chip resistant.
Less than a week now, y’all! Be keeping an eye out for pictures from the stage.
