This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers by Russell Brunson. All opinions are my own.
Over the past 30 days, I have had the opportunity to read and review Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers by Russell Brunson and implement the strategies I learned here at Hey Brittney. I agreed to give my honest review of the book and my experiences here with all of you.
I was skeptical at first because Traffic Secrets promised so much and I wasn’t sure if it could deliver. Were there people out there who were just waiting to hear my message? Was the problem that I just hadn’t found them yet? Could I really, in just 30 days, learn key strategies to increase my traffic right here on this site?
Yes, yes, and yes!
Big promise, right? But Traffic Secrets more than delivered on that promise.
Here is what this book helped me to accomplish in thirty days.
- Nail Down my Niche
- Find my “Dream 100”
- Craft my Hook, Story, and Offer
- Cut the distractions
- Analyze my traffic
1. Nail Down My Niche
You aren’t going to be able to find your traffic if you don’t really know who your traffic is. I’ve consistently had trouble nailing down who exactly I wanted to serve since I started Hey Brittney back in 2016. Did I want to serve animal activists? Did I want to cater to new vegans? For a little while, my content focused on a very small niche of vegan bikini competitors. For another period of time, I was focused on vegan pregnancy and birth. As my life changed, so did my audience.
I honestly just jumped all over the place, which caused me to gain followers that I would lose as soon as I jumped to the next thing. My inconsistency caused me some growing pains and made it harder to create meaningful content for my audience.
With Traffic Secrets, our first step was to get clear and specific on who it is that we want to help. I have never felt clearer on who I can help than I do right now.
I feel crystal clear on who I am serving and having such a clear image of those families makes my daily work I do at Hey Brittney that much more satisfying and enjoyable.
2. Find My "Dream 100"
The majority of our time over this challenge was spent finding, researching, and examining our “Dream 100”. Essentially, without giving away the entire book, the “Dream 100” are those experts in your niche who already have their audience established, are already doing the work you want to do, and already solving the problems you want to solve.
Because we become who we surround ourselves with, Traffic Secrets pushed us to really submerge ourselves in the worlds of those influencers, podcasters, bloggers, and celebrities who are where we want to be in the future.
I created lists of the best of the best, the cream of the crop, in my field and now I can actively watch them to see what kind of content they are putting out, how they attract their audiences, and how they are making themselves valuable in our niche market, We also got to take an active look at how we can put ourselves in front of our Dream 100’s audiences.
3. Craft My Hook, Story, and Offer
Because I was able to narrow in on my niche and spend solid time studying others within my market, I was able to see the holes that are yet to be filled within that market. This helped me to see where I come in and how I can serve. Now, I have not just one, but several, offers for my audience that are in the works. These are products that I am thrilled to create and excited to share all because Traffic Secrets helped me see the need to create them.
And once I have finished creating these offers, Traffic Secrets has given me clear direction on how to hook my audience, share my story, and present my offer.
4. Cut the Distractions
I spend an embarrassing amount of time mindlessly scrolling social media. Because my work takes place on social media, I walk a fine line between getting work done and just letting my thumbs take a stroll while I fall down the rabbit hole that is social media.
In Traffic Secrets and through this challenge, we were encouraged to cut out the distractions found on our social media, in our inboxes, on our podcast apps, etc. Time spent not watching the game changers in our field was just distracting.
Russell Brunson did a fantastic job teaching the reader to cut the distractions and focus in on their Dream 100. I personally cut who I follow down by more than 25%, removed podcasts that no longer serve me, left Facebook groups that aren’t helping me grow, and was intentional about who I am allowing to enter my inbox. This gives me more time to focus on my Dream 100 and consume the content that they are putting out across various platform.
5. Analyze My Traffic
It makes sense that a book titled Traffic Secrets would share some chapters on analyzing traffic. Russell Brunson does an excellent job of laying out the different types of traffic, how to gain that traffic, and the benefits and shortcomings of each type. We were taught the differences between traffic that we earn, traffic we buy, and traffic that we own and we were taught how to use those traffic types to our advantage to gain leverage and views on our websites and products.
Conclusion & Recommendation
What I loved most about this book, especially compared to other marketing trainings I’ve taken in the past, was just how actionable it is. Not only does Traffic Secrets tell you what you should be doing, it clearly lays out how to do it. It’s one thing to say “find your audience” and another to say “here is how to get in front of your audience”.
The results from my experience do not lie. In just 30 days, my traffic here has increased by more than 10% from the last month and I am well on track for my highest views and visitor months since I started this blog.
If you are somebody out there with a message you want to share or an amazing product or service, but you don’t know how to get your future customers to even know that you exist, I absolutely recommend Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers by Russell Brunson.
